A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Why This Work Matters To Me
This work is deeply important to me, both professionally and personally. My own experiences led me to become curious about how our childhood and relationships shape the way we see ourselves, connect with others and move through the world. Over time, that curiosity became a professional path and continues to shape the care and commitment I bring to my work.
I’m particularly drawn to the parts of therapy that can be harder to reach through insight alone. We can understand where a pattern comes from, recognise it as it’s happening and even know what we would like to do differently, yet still find ourselves responding in familiar ways. This is what drew me to approaches that consider not only our thoughts and emotions, but also our attachment experiences and the ways our bodies have learned to respond.
I approach therapy with warmth, compassion and curiosity. I understand many of the patterns we develop as adaptive responses to what we have experienced, often shaped by our need for safety, protection or connection. Rather than seeing these patterns as something to fix, I believe therapy can offer a space to understand and work with them, creating greater choice in how you respond, connect and relate.
MY PHILOSOPHY
The Heart of the Work
I believe there is something powerful in coming to understand ourselves more deeply, including what we need, what matters to us and how we want to live and relate.
For me, therapy isn’t about telling you who to be or how you should live. It’s about creating space for greater self-understanding, strengthening trust in yourself and having more choice and agency in how you move forward.
HOW I WORK
Relational • Trauma-informed • Body-aware
Therapy with me is relational, attachment-based, and informed by the ways trauma can shape both the mind and body. I draw from somatic and trauma-informed approaches to support greater awareness, regulation, and connection, tailoring our work to your individual needs and pace.
Relational
The therapeutic relationship is an important part of how I work. Together, we can notice relational patterns as they emerge and explore different ways of expressing needs, navigating boundaries and being in relationship.
Trauma-informed
I understand patterns and responses in the context of what you have experienced. Our work is collaborative and paced with you, with an emphasis on safety, choice and agency.
Body-aware
Our experiences can show up not only in our thoughts and emotions, but also in the ways our bodies respond. Drawing on my training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, we may gently notice sensations, movement and impulses to understand habitual responses and create opportunities to respond differently.
The Meaning of Threads of Alchemy
Threads of Alchemy reflects how I think about therapy. The threads represent the experiences, relationships and patterns that unfold throughout our lives, and the ways they can continue to influence how we see ourselves, connect with others and move through the world.
Alchemy represents the possibility of change. Of working with our experiences rather than against them, making sense of what has shaped us, and cultivating greater choice and freedom in how we live and relate.
